Prince Andrew ‘got locked outside in his underpants after a row with Fergie on a royal tour to Brisbane in the 1990s’

  • Prince Andrew was reportedly locked outside in just his underpants in Brisbane
  • Duke of York said to have been locked out after row with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson
  • Royal reportedly got back into guest quarters but was made to sleep on the sofa

Prince Andrew reportedly got locked outside in his underpants on a royal tour to Australia after a row with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

The Queen’s ‘favourite son’ was locked out of the bedroom he shared with the Duchess of York at Brisbane’s Government House in the 1990s, a source claimed.

The royal eventually made his way back into the guest quarters in the incident two decades ago.

But once back inside his then wife made him sleep downstairs on the sofa, a vice-regal source told The Courier-Mail.

The revelation comes after the under-fire royal, 59, announced his intention to ‘step back from public duties for the foreseeable future’ following his car-crash BBC interview about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein who was charged with the sex trafficking of minors.

The Duke was accused of showing a lack of empathy for the victims and no remorse over his friendship with the disgraced financier.

On Friday The Queen took Prince Andrew riding – the first time they have been seen together since she fired him from royal duties as Prince Charles prepares to fly home to ‘read him the riot act’ over the Epstein scandal.

The Prince of Wales is furious that his younger brother’s BBC interview has undermined his trip to New Zealand – made worse when the Duke of York invited his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson to Buckingham Palace yesterday.

On Friday morning Queen and Andrew rode in the rain through the grounds of Windsor Castle just 48 hours after she effectively sacked him at the behest of Charles.

MailOnline understands Charles was forced to step in again from 11,000 miles away to stop his errant brother causing more mayhem by heading to Bahrain for a glitzy charity bash.

Tom Bower, author of the explosive biography of Charles, the ‘rebel prince’, told MailOnline that the heir to the throne will meet Andrew when he returns from the Solomon Islands on Monday.
