They became parents for the second time with the arrival of Prince Gabriel in August.

And like all parents, royal couples need a little quality time together away from their children every once in a while.

Prince Carl Philip of Sweden, 38, took his wife Princess Sofia for a date night at a Christmas concert held at the Gustaf Vasa Church in Stockholm on Thursday night.

New mum Princess Sofia, 33, wrapped up warm in a chic grey coat as she joined her husband of two years for the festivities.

Sofia belted the coat at the waist, which allowed her to show off her svelte post baby figure.

She teamed the jacket with a simple pair of black heels and a matching leather clutch bag.

She wore her brunette tresses in loose curls and kept her makeup simple with a slick of red lipstick and winged eyeliner.

The royal couple welcomed their second son Prince Gabriel in August after becoming parents to Prince Alexander in April last year.

Earlier this year, Sofia opened up to Sweden’s Svenskdam magazine about life with Alexander, saying: ‘Being a mother is amazing. It changes your whole life.’

She said her first son had a mix of both parent’s personalities and is very ‘sweet and well-behaved’.

Meanwhile her husband admitted that being a first time parent takes ‘some adjustment’, but added ‘it’s still absolutely amazing and wonderful’.
