Prince Louis at one bears striking resemblance to one of his parents – but can you guess which one?

A picture highlighting the striking resemblance between the Duchess of Cambridge as a baby, and her son Prince Louis, has shown just how similar they look.

Over the weekend three new pictures of Prince Louis were released to mark his first birthday on April 23, taken at home in Norfolk.

And when compared to a snap of Kate Middleton at the same age, the young royal is the spitting image of his mum.

In a picture taken in 1982 in Bradfield, Berkshire, a sleepy Kate, now 37, wears a white and green babygrow to attend her best friend Nicola Brown’s first birthday party.

Pictures of Kate aged one show the mother and son share the same hazel eyes, button nose and full cheeks.

In his most recent pictures, rosy-cheeked Louis looks inquisitively at the camera while wearing a blue jumper from high street brand Trotters.

‘Twins! Although he has his father’s nose!’ one follower wrote.

Another added: ‘Agree he is his mum and granddad Middleton’, while one said: ‘So his mother’.

Elsewhere one argued: ‘I see a lot of James Middleton! But he is the spitting image of his mum.’

‘Adorable! He looks just like Kate’s dad!’, another said.

In the other two photographs, which were taken by the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Louis beams and gives his best cheeky expression for the camera, even reaching out towards it in one.

The youngest royal also takes a lot from his father’s side of the family, with pictures of baby Prince William, Prince Charles and even Queen Elizabeth II highlighting the resemblance.

A baby photograph of his father Prince William, taken three months before his first birthday, show he developed two bottom front teeth at the same time – and loved to smile for the camera.

A picture of the Queen as a baby, taken in 1926, shows that Louis has the same round face as his paternal grandmother.

In the other adorable new snaps of Louis, the young prince is dressed in a red jumper with tortoiseshell buttons across the left shoulder and a pair of black trousers.

The playful tot is covered in bits of moss, having clearly had a wonderful time playing in the garden during the photoshoot with his mother.

His broad smiles show off his two bottom teeth – and it looks like two more may be on their way soon.

Prince Louis was born on 23 April 2018 at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, in London.

Prince Louis is fifth in line to the throne, a great-grandchild of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, and the younger sibling of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Louis made his debut in Kate’s arms as his proud parents showed him off to the world on the steps of the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, just hours after he was born.

The name Louis was already one of George’s middle names and pays tribute to the Prince of Wales’s great-uncle, Earl Mountbatten, who was murdered by the IRA.

William and Kate released photos of their son soon after he was born – including one of him being cuddled by his big sister Charlotte on her third birthday when Louis was only about a week old.

Louis was sleeping soundly, as Charlotte put a protective arm around her baby brother and planted a kiss on his forehead.

The prince was next seen fast asleep at his christening in July, and alert and smiling in family photographs released to mark the occasion.

Louis, who appears to have inherited the brown Middleton eyes from Kate’s side of the family, was pictured with his wider family, including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall in photos released to mark Charles’s 70th birthday in November.
