And it isn’t the first time Princess Mary has publicly spoken out about gay and transgender rights.
In May 2016, she delivered a powerful speech at a conference promoting the rights of gay and transgender people at the official opening of the European Conference IDAHO Forum at Admiral Hotel in Copenhagen.
‘We must be united in fight against discrimination,’ Princess Mary reportedly said, in the hopes for ‘a life of dignity for all’.
She also reportedly said at an event: ‘We must agree to reject all forms of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.’
