Princess Sofia of Sweden attends graduation ceremony in Stockholm

She recently opened up her private life to royal watchers everywhere when she made her Instagram public.

But Princess Sofia of Sweden was back to business when she attended a formal function on Monday.

The 33-year-old royal, who is married to Prince Carl-Philip, looked pretty in pink as she was guest of honour at the The Sophia Party at Sophiahemmet Hospital in Stockholm.

The institution – of which Sofia is Honorary President – held the event to celebrate this year’s graduating class of nurses.

Sofia’s sharp ensemble comprised of a pair of flared pale pink trousers with a matching fitted jacket.

The feminine number featured three large rose gold buttons that kept Sofia looking suitably demure.

She paired the look with a matching pair of pretty pink shoes and a quirky black clutch bag.

Mother-of-two Sofia wore her brunette tresses in bouncy curls around her shoulders and complimented her pink outfit with a dash of pink lipstick.

It was her first royal engagement since opening up her social media pages to the public.

Sofia and  Prince Carl-Philip who are parents to Prince Alexander, two, and Prince Gabriel, who is eight months old, have been filling their Instagram feed with photographs since last year, but have only recently chosen to share the contents with the public.

The candid snaps capture the Prince and Princess exchanging a smile during a board meeting for their foundation, a group shot taken on a family outing on Valentine’s Day, and the Princess’ own snap of her eldest boy, Alexander, gently tickling his new baby brother on the nose.

Sofia and Carl-Philip made the account public earlier this month, sharing a picture of themselves with a message welcoming their followers.

‘As you can see, we have already posted photos for some time to give you an insight into our work, the missions we are carrying out and, above all, the issues we are burning for.’

They signed off with: ‘Hope you want to follow us!’
