Princess Sofia of Sweden visits nature reserve with son Alexander

Princess Sofia of Sweden looked effortlessly chic as she enjoyed a family day out with husband Prince Carl Philip and their son Alexander today.

The mother-of-two, 33, was seen doting on two-year-old Alexander at the Nynas Nature Reserve in Sodermanland, where they enjoyed a ride in a horse-drawn carriage.

Choosing a simple look for the outing, Sofia layered a navy sweater over a white shirt and tailored trousers, finishing off her look with a pair of trendy Superga trainers, a brand worn in the past by the Duchess of Cambridge.

Wearing her brunette locks down in loose curls, she opted for a minimal make -up look for the family day out.

Her husband Carl Philip, 39, meanwhile looked dapper in a grey blazer, paired with green chinos and leather trainers.

During the visit, young Alexander was seen helping his parents to cut the ribbon to unveil a new model duck at the reserve, before trying it out for himself.

The outing comes after the Swedish royal family released as series of portraits showing them enjoying their summer break at Solliden Palace in Öland.

Earlier this month, Sofia described how she faced a ‘huge hate storm’ when her relationship with her now husband was first made public, due to her history as a former glamour model.

She was addressing the issue of bullying as a speaker at the Let’s Make Love Great Again festival when she described how the media furore ‘knocked her over’.

‘People had opinions about me and my relationship, and more,’ she told TV4 in an interview.

‘It was very tough. People had comments on everything possible, on what I do and how I look,’ said the Princess, who has undertaken charity work to combat hate speech on the web.

She also told how she and Carl Philip intend to create an ‘open dialogue’ with their sons around the issue of online bullying.
