Jailed Finsbury Park mosque killer Darren Osborne had boiling water thrown in his face in a ‘revenge attack’.

The attacker reportedly ran into Osborne’s cell at Wakefield prison in west Yorkshire, and threw boiling water over his face and body.

Osborne then activated a security buzzer at the high security prison, which houses some of the most dangerous inmates in the UK.

He was treated in the jail’s healthcare unit for burns and blisters to the face and body.

The attack comes after Osborne allegedly beat up fellow inmate and child rapist Tariq Islam till he was unconscious in August this year.

It was reported at the time that if prison guards had not got to him in time then he could have been killed.

Father-of-four Osborne rammed his van into a group of Muslim worshippers in London in June 2017 which left one man dead and twelve people injured.

He was jailed for life after his trial heard how he boasted he wanted to ’cause as much damage as possible.’

Osborne was radicalised after scouring the internet looking for far-right material after watching a BBC drama about Asian grooming gangs in Rochdale.

A source told The Sun that Osborne was in agony after the boiling water incident.

A spokesperson from the Ministry of Justice said: ‘A prisoner suffered minor injuries after having hot water thrown in his face by a prisoner at HMP Wakefield on 18 September.

‘He did not require hospital treatment and the three prisoners involved have been punished.’

They added that the water did not contain any sugar, which is known to make burns more severe.
