Producer on The Bachelor claims she was sexually harassed

An ex-producer of The Bachelor has filed a lawsuit claiming that she was sexually harassed while working on the hit reality show.

Becky Steenhoek filed suit against five producers on the show and Warner Brothers on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

During the taping of JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette in 2016, Steenhoek alleges that she was constantly harassed by colleagues who asked questions like ‘is your  vagina shaved?’ and ‘Have you ever fondled [testicles] before?’

‘It was a bit of a theme that carried on throughout the season … it was a fun time for them to see me get embarrassed,’ she said to the Los Angeles Times.

But when she went to complain, the woman claims to have been told by cast producer Caitlin Stapleton that ‘This is just how it is’ and brushed it off as ‘locker room talk.’

Steenhoek was subsequently fired and told by producer Bennet Graebner that she wasn’t enough of a ‘b***h.’

Both Stapleton and Graebner are named in the lawsuit but also included are Elan Gale, Peter Scalettar and Jacqueline Naz Perez.

Steenhoek is suing for damages for ‘sexual harassment and hostile work environment, sex discrimination, retaliation, failure to prevent harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and wrongful termination.’

She added: ‘When we sign our paperwork, we’re given a sexual harassment policy that says ‘any unwanted — whether it’s verbal or physical — sexual advances that makes the person feel uncomfortable and is unwelcome, that you’re supposed to report that and it’s not allowed.’ I think it’s an industry-wide problem — these executives are untouchable.’

‘If you report it, you get retaliated against, you get fired because then you’re not a team player. If you don’t report it, then it was essentially me not being me. I would have had to sacrifice my values and my morals for something I didn’t think was right, and I’m not gonna do that.’

Warner Brothers sent a statement to Page Six on Monday stating that they ‘take all allegations of workplace harassment seriously.’

‘These allegations were brought to our attention and were thoroughly investigated earlier this year. Our findings did not support the plaintiff’s characterization of the events claimed to have taken place, which is why we are disappointed by the filing of this lawsuit.’

The production company was recently under fire after a Bachelor in Paradise producer told of a sexual encounter between Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson.
