A professional wrestler has been arrested in Japan after allegedly wrestling a man to the ground in a row over a parking space. 

Kenji Abe, 40, was arrested on suspicion of assault in Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture on Sunday after the shocking incident took place in a supermarket car park.

Police in the city said the altercation took place at around 6pm on Sunday after Abe and a 47-year-old man had an argument.

Abe admitted grabbing the man’s neck with both arms, then wrestling him to the ground in the dispute.

He claimed he became enraged after the man allegedly cut in front of him while he was about to enter a vacant space in the parking lot.  

The victim suffered minor injuries, including bruises and cuts to his head.
