Road rage can make us act like animals.

But this driving dog was the picture of serenity when she calmly negotiated roads in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Peanut the puppy got behind the wheel on Monday on her way out for a day of hiking with her owners.

The fur ball drove like a professional, placing her paws on the wheel in the perfect ten-to-two position taught by driving instructors.

Towards the end of the short clip she even seemed to check her left wing mirror.

The canine was certainly enjoying herself, gazing out from the dashboard at the road ahead of her.

The cameraman said: ‘My wife, myself and Peanut were off to go hiking, and she decided to take over the steering wheel.’

He can be heard giggling in disbelief behind the camera as Peanut keeps up her impressive performance.

After a while, the woman in the driving seat decides it’s her time to shine, and she moves Peanut out of the way as the video comes to an end.
