A Qantas flight from Singapore to Sydney has been forced to divert to Adelaide following a mid-air emergency.

Qantas flight QF82 departed from Singapore at around 9:10pm on Wednesday and was expected to land in Sydney Thursday morning.

The flight diverted path however, landing in Adelaide around 5am after crews had announced a mid-air emergency, according to FIVEaa radio.

No detail regarding the medical emergency have been revealed and the flight has since taken off again en-route to Sydney.

This is the second Qantas plane to face an emergency in less than a week.

On Monday a Qantas flight took off from Adelaide only to return after passengers noticed a concerning smell.

Qantas flight QF1974 departed at 11:20am and was scheduled to land in Canberra at around 1:25pm.

About 10 minutes into the flight, cabin crews had smelt fumes inside the aircraft, leading the pilot to request a priority landing before immediately returning to Adelaide.

At the time a spokesperson for Qantas said that the ‘the fumes dissipated quickly, and no one was impacted as a result of the incident’.
