Qatari investors targeting Man United confident PSG’s Qatar ownership WON’T cause issues

EXCLUSIVE: Qatari investors targeting Man United are confident that PSG’s Qatar ownership WON’T cause any issues with their bid – and are already making plans for big-money squad strengthening

The group of Qatari investors who are to launch a bid for Manchester United are confident that there will be no issues presented by the nation’s ownership of Paris Saint-Germain, Sportsmail understands.

Last night, MailOnline broke the story that a number of wealthy individuals from the oil-rich state expect to make an offer for the club ahead of the mid-February deadline.

They want to arm manager Erik ten Hag with a vast war chest in order to take United back to the top of world football, which is where they feel the club belongs.

The group is aware that the club’s current owners, the Glazer family, are seeking north of £6bn for the club and that there is a potential cost of £2bn to either redevelop or rebuild Old Trafford.

One issue could be the ownership of the French giants by Qatar Sports Investment Group.

PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi is also the chairman of Qatar Sports Investments

United’s owners Joel (L) and Avram (R) Glazer are seeking north of £6bn to sell the club

However, that is an area which is being examined by experts acting on behalf of those involved.

They are separate from QSI and the money will be in the shape of an individual fund rather than a sovereign wealth fund.

There is a confidence that Qatar’s ownership of PSG will not cause any issues.

It can also be disclosed that the group, who are confident that theirs will be the strongest bid, are already making plans for what should happen if they are successful.

The aim is to make a substantial investment which would allow Ten Hag, under whom United are resurgent, to further strengthen his squad.
