The parents of an 18-month-old girl who suffers from a premature ageing disorder have created a bucket list of things for them to do together.

Little Eva Jimmieson, from Queensland, was diagnosed with cockayne syndrome – a rare genetic condition that restricts her growth and life expectancy.

Speaking on the Today show, her doting parents Dan and Alicia Jimmieson spoke out about the difficulties they faced with their daughter’s battle.

‘It’s been a bit of a challenge. She had a shocker of a night last night so we’ve all been awake from midnight onwards,’ Mr Jimmieson said.

His wife added: ‘But overall, she’s pretty good most of the time. Pretty happy normally.’

On Friday, Today presenter Natalia Cooper surprised the family with $10,000 in Knock of Cash to help them tick off their daughter’s bucket list.

The couple were moved to tears after their friend Lisa Hilton nominated them for the Christmas prize money.

‘This would definitely go to good use to make Eva’s life as amazing as possible,’ her mother said.

When asked what kind of activities little Eva enjoys, her father said she loves water. 

‘She loves water, she loves playing in the water. She loves to look at bright lights and things like that so Christmas lights,’ he said.

The family-of-three will use the money to build memories together by taking their little daughter ‘everywhere’.

Surrounded by loved ones, the couple thanked their family and friends for their tremendous support through their journey.

‘Our friends and family have been pretty amazing actually,’ Mr Jimmieson said, before his tearful wife added: ‘We’ve been blown away how amazing they’ve been.’
