Queen Letizia of Spain attends awards ceremony in Alicante

Queen Letizia of Spain looked stunning in a fuchsia pink ensemble as she attended the Investigation National Awards 2022 in Alicante. 

Joined by her husband King Felipe VI, the stylish Queen, 50, opted for a matching pencil skirt and blouse for the event at Casa Mediterraneo in the Spanish city.  

The royal’s midi skirt had a slit down the back, while her elegant pink blouse featured a round neck and billowing sleeves held in at the wrists with statement gold buttons. 

King Felipe, 55, and Letizia were captured side-by-side walking among the gathering crowds for the annual awards. 

The mother-of-two held onto a mulberry-coloured patent clutch bag, while wearing matching heels and colourful drop earrings. 

She swept her brunette tresses behind her shoulders in a loose style and kept her make up neutral with a smoky eye and nude lip. 

Meanwhile King Felipe looked dapper in a navy suit, with a baby blue striped shirt and pink patterned tie as he stood alongside his wife. 

The Spanish royals presented the prizes, which are worth 30,000 euros to researchers in Spain who have performed outstanding professional work of international relevance in the fields of research and science.

The awards were created in 1982 and are presented to a total of 10 experts, with each one associated with different areas of science. 

The royal couple have had a busy week and on Tuesday attended the presentation of the ‘Digital Portal of Hispanic History’ at the Royal Palace in Madrid.

Queen Letizia dressed in pastel tones as her and her husband presided over the cultural demonstration. 

The mother-of-two, known for recycling her very stylish wardrobe, donned a statement midi-skirt from Reiss – which she also wore for an event last March.

The textured lilac and indigo hues of the piece, resembling a butterfly’s wing, made for a chic contrast to her baby pink turtleneck.

The couple were pictured laughing with other attendees, and appeared to be in high spirits as they sat down next to each other.

The Hispanic History portal aims to demonstrate the collaboration between different data when it comes to building up the character of a place’s past.

The Royal Academy of History, which runs the project, works with the purpose of ‘illustrating and investigating the past’, according to the Spanish Royal Family’s website.
