Queen Letizia of Spain appeared business-like this morning in a stylish recycled houndstooth blazer and leather trousers as she returned to work following the Duchess of Badajoz’s death yesterday.

The mother-of-two, 47, cut a stylish figure as she attended a meeting for FEDER, the Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases, in Madrid earlier today.

The royal nailed workwear chic, pairing a chic black polo neck and leather trousers with a trendy houndstooth blazer by Spanish brand Uterque, which costs £200.

It comes after she joined husband King Felipe VI, 51, at a funeral chapel last night to pay her respects to his aunt, Infanta Pilar of Spain – the older sister of King Juan Carlos I – who died yesterday.

The Spanish royal recycled the white houndstooth blazer, which cost £200, with black leather trousers and a simple black polo neck.

She first wore the double breasted blazer, which is sold-out online, in November as she joined King Felipe to board their flight to Havana for a four day trip to Cuba.

The queen finished her stylish outfit with a large black clutch bag and black stilettos.

The Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases aims to promote ‘the need to work with everyone involved to promote the access to a diagnosis for those people suffering from rare diseases.’

They help people who have contracted a disease that less than five people per 10,000 have. There are more than three million people that fit the bill in Spain alone.
