Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander visit a boat in Hoorn

Queen Maxima was at her radiant best as she joined her husband for a royal engagement on Thursday.

The Dutch queen, 47, channelled old school Hollywood glamour in a cream mid-length skirt, matching hat and gloves as she stepped out with King Willem-Alexander, 51, in the northern town of Hoorn.

The couple, who are visiting the region of West Friesland, looked in excellent spirits as they posed for photos in front of a historic ship moored in the harbour.

A vibrant bouquet of yellow and purple flowers, handed to her by a well-wisher, added a pop of colour to the look.

Meanwhile King Willem-Alexander, who looked particularly proud to be standing next to his beaming wife, looked smart in a blue suit and salmon pink tie.
