Sporting royalty! Queen Maxima of the Netherlands recycles chic turquoise dress as she joins King Willem-Alexander to congratulate Olympic medal winners at Noordeinde Palace

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands joined King Willem-Alexander in welcoming Olympic medal winners to Noordeinde Palace in in The Hague this afternoon. 

The Dutch royal, 50, who is known for her vibrant sense of style, recycled a bright blue dress, which she had previously worn at the award ceremony for the Appeltjes van Oranje founded by the Oranje Fonds in June.

She refreshed the look by swapping coordinated turquoise accessories with a pair of timeless nude court heels and a matching clutch bag.

The mother-of-three took centre stage alongside a dapper King Willem-Alexander as they posed for photographs with the athletes on the steps.

The trendsetter completed her elegant appearance by wearing her glossy blonde hair straight with a relaxed parting.

Meanwhile, King Willem-Alexander coordinated with the athletes by teaming his navy suit with a bold orange tie. 

The couple appeared in good spirits as they shook hands with the medal winners and could be seen joining in with animated conversations.

They were also seen being applauded by the athletes, who proudly donned their awards around their necks for the monumental occasion. 

The official ceremony of the Olympic medal winners in The Hague was organised by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.

The athletes and their coaches were honoured in Sportcampus Zuiderpark, where they were addressed by Prime Minister Rutte, State Secretary Blokhuis of Health, Welfare and Sport, and Chef de Mission Van den Hoogenband. 

The event was then followed by a reception at Noordeinde Palace.
