Queen Maxima of the Netherlands sports sunny ensemble in Sint Eustatius

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands blended into the warm tropical climate as she donned a sunny yellow frock for the tenth day of the royals’ trip to the Dutch Caribbean Islands.

The mother-of-three, 51, looked sensational in the flowy, flower printed maxi-dress during a day of engagements at Sint Eustatius.

She teamed the bright number with white sandal heels and a wide brim hat to shield her eyes.

The European monarch opted for statement earrings with tassels at the end to add a fun flair and finish the look off.

Maxima kept her belongings in a mustard clutch and threw on a pair of sunglasses as she was pictured during a walk through capital Oranjestad’s historical centre with her husband King Willem-Alexander and daughter Catharina-Amalia, Princess of Orange.

The royals were told about the island’s past with slavery as they got a tour of the capital’s culturally significant sites, and met a number of Statia residents.

The Dutch king, 55, opted for a more dressed down look with charcoal slacks and a white button-down, pictured smiling attentively as he heard about life on the island.

He was snapped sitting between two elderly women on a bench, appearing delighted to be in conversation with the pair.

Meanwhile their 19-year-old daughter was effortlessly elegant in a cornflower blue blouse and white flares.

The young princess appeared to channel her mother as she donned ornate, dragonfly shaped earrings to add some glitz to her casual ensemble.

Tortoise-shell framed sunnies and a simple necklace tied the look together.

She wore simple, open-toe sandals for the day out, and held onto a patterned floral clutch for the outing.

Catharina-Amalia appeared in high spirits as she learned about Sint Eustatius’s history, and was at one point snapped in a sweet moment with two young girls, as she held their hands.

And the family has a busy day of engagements up ahead.

After being welcomed by Government Commissioner Alida Francis, the trio met with island authority representatives.

The Oranjestad historical centre walkabout is to be followed by a debate about the island’s future, led by young people.

The royals will then have a lunch with residents and enjoy some time at Zeelandia Beach, set to hear about local nature management.

Next on the programme is a community garden visit, where the party will get a chance to speak with farmers on the island.

A game of basketball with some schoolchildren will then be followed by a cultural event at Fort Oranje, to conclude their visit to the island.
