On the evening of Sinterklaas on December 6 – which translates to Saint Nicholas’s Day – families typically exchange presents.
Speaking of the heir to the Dutch throne, Queen Maxima gushed: ‘She is growing up fast and beautifully.
‘She is an amazing daughter, an amazing friend, I am so very proud of her.
‘We will be singing for her and let’s bring on the next two years, which will probably be the last two years of her living at home.

Catharina-Amalia became the heir apparent when her father King Willem-Alexander, 52, ascended the throne and became the King of the Netherlands in 2013.
Last year, the Dutch royals released a new portrait of Princess Catharina-Amalia to mark her 15th birthday.
She looked chic in a purple shift dress featuring a high neck as she posed for the photograph.
The picture was shared on Instagram by the Dutch Royal Palace, with fans quickly posting their birthday wishes to the princess.
Maxima revealed that her eldest daughter would be celebrating that birthday with family and friends.
