An embarrassed woman who spat at a mother and baby because no one helped her up when she fell over in a pub car park has been spared jail.

Rochelle Naomi Wells arrived at the Landsborough Hotel in Queensland, fuming with rage on Saturday April 7, following an earlier incident in the hotel’s car park, the Sunshine Coast Daily reported.

The 30-year-old entered the premises yelling and swearing at men who were forced to hide behind a table, and knocking down tables.

Several items on the table fell off and almost struck a sleeping baby.

The shocked mother slammed Wells for her carelessness and for endangering her baby’s life.

She then spat at the mother who quickly dodged it.

Wells appeared at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was slammed for her ‘disgusting’ behaviour, Sunshine Coast Daily reported.

Magistrate Matthew McLaughlin said Wells acted like a ‘mad’ person and that there was no excuse for her behaviour.

‘What mother wouldn’t tell you off for acting like you did when her baby was in the firing line?’ he asked.

‘You are very lucky it [spit] missed or you could well be going to jail,’ he told Wells.

Wells was fined $1500.
