Quentin Tarantino casts Justified star Damon Herriman as Charles Manson

Quentin Tarantino has finally found his Charles Manson for his upcoming ninth movie.

Australian star Damon Herriman, best known for his supporting role in FX series Justified has been cast as the 1960’s cult leader.

Herriman, who bears a striking resemblance to Manson, is 48 which makes him over a decade older than Manson was at the time of the Tate-LaBianca murders.

He’s found his guy: Australian actor Damon Herriman has been cast as Charles Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood

The director already has an impressive cast on board including Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Dakota Fanning, Burt Reynolds, Al Pacino, Kurt Russell, Timothy Olyphant, Tim Roth, James Marsden and Luke Perry.

The story revolves around a fading western TV star (DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Pitt) struggling to adjust to a Hollywood they no longer recognize.

Pacino will play DiCaprio’s agent Marvin Schwarz while Fanning will be Manson family member Lynette ‘Squeaky’ Fromme.

Reynolds has been cast as George Spahn, the blind owner of the property that Manson and his followers were living on at the time of the murders.

It is not yet known how much Manson will feature in the movie.

In recent days Rumer Willis, Dreama Walker, Maya Hawke, Margaret Qualley, Costa Ronin, Victoria Pedretti, and Madisen Beaty joined the cast along with Girls star Lena Dunham.

Dunham will take on the role of one of Manson’s followers named Catherine ‘Gypsy’ Share alongside Carrie Diaries star Austin Butler as Charles ‘Tex’ Watson.

Hawke, 20, daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, will play a fictional character called Flower Child.

Tarantino released a statement in February detailing the basics of the film, which he described as ‘a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood.’

‘I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff. Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate.’

Tarantino, who said he’s worked on the script for five years, said he’s ‘very excited to tell this story of an L.A., and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore.’

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood hits theaters July 2019.
