Anthony Albanese has been accused of using a taxpayer-funded jet to fly to a private Labor Party fundraiser at a law firm in Brisbane.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister met with Queensland Premier David Crisafulli to tour flood-ravaged Townsville.

Mr Albanese and his entourage flew out of Townsville Airport at 1.16pm and landed in Brisbane at 2.47pm, radio station 4BC reported.

But questions are being asked about what official business the prime minister had in Brisbane, as no press conference was held there.

The radio station reported that Mr Albanese attended a private fundraiser at a Brisbane law firm. The government jet then flew to Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, departing Brisbane at 9.14pm.

‘Using a private jet that we pay for to fly from Townsville to Brisbane for this fundraiser, does that pass the pub test,’ 4BC host Peter Fegan said.

Mr Albanese’s office reportedly said the flight to Brisbane – rather than flying directly from Townsville straight to Alice Springs – was to drop Mr Crisafulli off.

But a spokesperson for Mr Crisafulli confirmed with Daily Mail Australia on Friday the Queensland premier was not on the flight.

Mr Albanese’s office has been contacted for comment.

The latest row comes after NSW Transport Minister Jo Haylen was forced to resign from after she got a taxpayer-funded driver to transport her to a boozy winery lunch and drop her children off at weekend sport in Sydney.

‘I have made mistakes, people aren’t perfect,’ Ms Haylen said while fronting media in Sydney earlier this week.

‘I did not break the rules, but I acknowledge that that’s not the only test here. I’ve let the public down, and I’m very sorry for that.’
