Radford University fraternity probed for hazing party

Members of an ill-reputed Radford University fraternity are under investigation after a hazing scheme caused a drunken pledge to black out during a lap dance and wake up to a searing brand on his butt.

An unidentified male victim told police he and at least 15 other new members of Pi Kappa Phi were given strict and absurd instructions before the nightmare party September 14 at a house located on the 1200 block of Downy Street in Radford, Virginia.

Search warrants filed last week detail frightening events from the evening – which the victim said started out with the fraternity president forcing members to chug dangerous amounts of liquor.

The warrant revealed the president confiscated new members’ cell phones in preparation for the erotic dancers who banned photos from being taken, according to WSLS.

The president gathered new members and presented them with eight large bottles of Burnett’s Vodka – which he ordered them to chug in unison within five minutes.

The warrant said the members placed a trash can dedicated for vomiting nearby.

The said victim became heavily intoxicated that blurry evening when he recalled getting ‘whipped’ by strippers before blacking out.

He alleged that he woke up the next morning, disoriented and in boxers only, with a burning pain on his backside.

That’s when he realized he was branded in his sleep. A doctor diagnosed it as a ‘thermal burn.’

The doctor shot down claims by fellow fraternity members who told police the victim wound up with ‘chemical burns during an attempt to clean the couch with Scrubbing Bubbles shower cleaner,’ according to the local news station.

They alleged someone else urinated and vomited on the couch he was sound asleep on.

That’s when they claim they moved his body and accidentally gave him the ‘chemical burn’ while cleaning up.

The victim now has permanent scarring on his backside.

Investigation also revealed drug paraphernalia had been discovered inside the party house.

The ruthless young men pleaded guilty last year to other hazing incidents – which involved an instance where members were forced into ‘push-ups on sharp bottle caps.’

School officials have yet to determine a form of punishment. Time may reveal potential criminal charges.

The behavior has been deemed unacceptable and reprehensible by Vice President of University Relations, Joe Carpenter.

‘We took it very seriously,’ Carpenter said in a public statement on the matter.

‘We made sure we gave the necessary support to the student to help him, in this regard, and we also immediately contacted the City of Radford Police.’
