Byron Cooke has responded to claims he was ‘bullied’ by former AFL star Brendan Fevola on Fox FM’s breakfast show.

During a Q&A on his Byron Cooke Show podcast, a listener asked Byron whether he felt mistreated by Brendan during the five years they worked together on the Fifi, Fev & Byron breakfast show.

‘Fev and I are good friends and there’s nothing I would deliberately withhold from Fev,’ he explained.

‘Fev has become a brother and brothers can be annoying and brothers can pick on you to the point you want to throw a pillow at them or whatever.’

Byron added: ‘I’m not going to sit here and say that there weren’t mornings where he pissed me off.’

‘But underneath all of it was and still is love,’ he said.

Byron announced he was leaving Melbourne radio station Fox FM in November last year to focus on his new podcast and spend more time with his family.

The radio presenter broke down in tears live on air as he told listeners of his decision.

‘I’ve been here quite a few years. I don’t know how to say this but this is going to be my second last show with you guys,’ he began his resignation speech.

He added: ‘As of next year, I won’t be on the show. I’ve made a decision to move on to other challenges. This is actually quite difficult but I’m moving on.’

Byron added that he’d struggled getting up at 4.30am every day for five years, and this schedule meant he hadn’t been able to do ‘much else’.

‘It’s just hard… It’s not because I don’t love being it, but I just can’t do seven things at once. This has not been easy,’ he said tearfully.

Byron had co-hosted the Melbourne breakfast show with Brendan and Fifi Box since 2017.
