Radio legend John Laws, 85, is rushed to hospital in Sydney with a serious infection – as broadcast mate Ben Fordham issues a heartfelt message

Legendary radio star John Laws, 85, has been rushed to hospital in Sydney to undergo a procedure for an infection.

The talk back radio king’s health scare was revealed on 2GB by Ben Fordham on Wednesday morning.

‘The radio legend is unwell,’ Fordham told listeners. ‘He was hospitalised last week and he’s undergoing a procedure.’

He explained that he found out Laws was in hospital when he tried to phone him on Saturday to let him know radio program director John ‘Brenno’ Brennan died.

Brennan succumbed to a long battle with vascular dementia, and was instrumental in Laws’ career, along with shock jocks Alan Jones and Ray Hadley.

Laws lost his wife Caroline to cancer in February after 40 years of marriage, and was joined by a who’s who of Sydney’s entertainment scene at her funeral.
