Ten Hag was seen leaving United’s Mayfair offices in London on Thursday evening
The Dutchman was spotted leaving the club’s offices in Mayfair on Thursday night alongside his new assistants – former Newcastle and Derby boss Steve McClaren and Mitchell van der Gaag – as they look to kick-start a new era.
Ten Hag will be in the stands at Selhurst Park, watching over his new players in person for the first time. He is expected to meet his new players for the first time on Monday.
Rangnick has been outspoken about the issues facing United, who he has previously said need open heart surgery before they can challenge for major honours again.
‘I still strongly believe that there is a core of players who are top, who are well worth and good enough to play for this club and hopefully most of those players will still be here next season,’ he said.
‘If the board, Erik, the scouting department – and I will help them with all the issues that I can to help them – if we bring in the right mentality players, the right quality players, I’m positive that we will be able to bring this club back not only on track but also back to the top.
‘This is what it’s all about in the next couple of weeks. Maybe it will not happen or be possible in one transfer window but I’m very positive that it can happen in the next two or three windows.’

United need to beat Crystal Palace on Sunday to qualify for the Europa League next season
United head to south London seeking a victory that could clinch a place in next season’s Europa League.
‘I am positive they would rather play in the Europa League than the Conference League,’ Rangnick said.
‘This should be the incentive for everybody that we qualify for the Europa League on Sunday.’
