  • Michigan Representative Rashida Tlaib said Donald Trump is running a ‘hate agenda’
  • The congresswoman made her comments in response to the president’s tweets attacking Rep. Elijah Cummings and his district, which includes Baltimore
  • ‘He continues to say things about American cities all across this country,’ Tlaib said. ‘I mean look, our president has a hate agenda’
  • She also said Trump is a ‘crooked CEO’ that is allowing corporations and personal interest seep into his policy making
  • Many claims Trump’s attacks are racially motivated
  • Trump said Baltimore, which Cummings represents, is ‘disgusting’ and ‘rodent infested’
  • Cummings is black and Baltimore is more than 60 per cent black and African American residents
  • Trump’s attacks against Tlaib and the rest of the so-called ‘squad’ have also been called racist and xenophobic

Rashida Tlaib said Sunday Donald Trump is a ‘crooked CEO’ that is more focused on his ‘hate agenda’ than doing what is best for the American people.

‘He continues to say things about American cities all across this country,’ Tlaib told CNN Sunday morning in reference to the president’s recent attacks on Baltimore, Maryland and its representative Elijah Cummings.

‘I mean look, our president has a hate agenda,’ she continued. ‘He doesn’t have a policy agenda. And that’s what he falls down on, right?’

The progressive Michigan congresswomen – part of the freshmen so-called ‘squad’ – claims the president is running the White House more like ‘corporation’ that will make him and his business associates and friends money.

‘[My residents] tell me constantly… there’s something going on here, ‘we don’t feel like our government is protecting us.’ And it’s because of the corporation is seeping in.’

‘I mean this is a crooked CEO in the White House that is making decisions based on profits, based on where his friends, and based on what his Trump Organization – his for-profit industry – would benefit from versus what is best for the American people,’ she said, adding she would not allow her constituents to be ‘played.’

‘We can see it from far away that he’s incompetent that he hasn’t been able to follow through on the promises he’s made,’ she concluded in her attack on the president.

Representatives Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley, who have dubbed themselves the ‘squad,’ have found themselves in an ongoing feud with the president after Trump escalated tensions when tweeting earlier this month that the quartet should ‘go back’ and fix their respective countries of origin.

Since then, there have been both public statements and tweets back and forth between Trump and the four congresswomen who were elected to the House in the 2018 midterms.

Tlaib’s latest attack on Trump came after the president tweeted disparaging comments about House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings and Baltimore, which falls within his district.

‘So sad that Elijah Cummings has been able to do so little for the people of Baltimore,’ Trump tweeted on Saturday. ‘Statistically, Baltimore ranks last in almost every major category. Cummings has done nothing but milk Baltimore dry, but the public is getting wise to the bad job that he is doing!’

In defending his tweets to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi he said ‘there is nothing wrong with bringing out the very obvious fact that Congressman Elijah Cummings has done a very poor job for his district and the City of Baltimore.’

He also accused Democrats of playing the ‘race card’ in criticizing him and excusing their actions.

‘The Democrats always play the Race Card, when in fact they have done so little for our Nation’s great African American people,’ he tweeted. ‘Now, lowest unemployment in U.S. history, and only getting better. Elijah Cummings has failed badly!’

Tlaib said Trump’s attacks and ‘hate agenda’ is dangerous because he is now allowing it to cross over into his political agenda.

‘I mean this hate agenda is now seeping into policy making,’ she accused on Sunday.
