The new season of Real Housewives of Melbourne hasn’t aired yet, but the fighting between the women has already kicked off.
On Friday, newcomer Anjali Rao slammed original cast member Janet Roach after the original cast member made scathing remarks about the former CNN correspondent in a promotional interview for the show.
Speaking to news.com.au on Friday, Janet, 63, warned Anjali, who has worked as a television presenter on CNN, Sky News, Studio 10, and Dateline, about starting drama on social media ahead of the the reality show’s premiere.

‘I’m just saying, Anjali, I know you’re listening, but nobody knows who you are so we don’t actually give a s***. Chill out, let’s face it,’ Janet said.
Anjali, 47, was quick to hit back just hours after the interview was published.
Posting a screengrab of the article to her Instagram page, she wrote in the caption: ‘If I got “roasted”, I certainly wasn’t aware of it.
‘Then again, whenever Granny Janny empties her nappy about me, I do tend to use the opportunity to have a little snooze. My eyes might be open, but I’m actually fast asleep.’

‘And as for nobody knowing who I am, 220 million news-watching people around the world would argue that they do,’ she added, referencing her CNN stint.
‘Janet, however, can’t even spell the word ‘news’, let alone care about anything that happens beyond Toorak.
‘Anyhoo, thanks for the publicity!’ she concluded, telling her fans to tune into the season five RHOM premiere.

The feud between the reality stars began during filming, when Janet shared a photo of Anjali that she didn’t like.
And in August, Anjali threw shade at her co-stars when she told The Herald Sun she was ‘self made’ and quite different to the other women on the show.
‘To go into a world like Housewives was different, particularly when I am an entirely self made woman – professionally, financially, all of it – I didn’t have to hook up with somebody or marry someone to have it,’ she said at the time.

Anjali also told the paper that the cast was shocked that she hadn’t undergone cosmetic procedures.
‘The others couldn’t believe I’d never had Botox. I think anybody who says they go into any reality show not frightened or nervous in some way, is a liar or an idiot,’ she added.

Janet revealed to the Unpopular podcast that the Anjali ‘couldn’t keep up’ with the glitz and glamour of the show.
‘She couldn’t keep up with times, she couldn’t keep up with outfits,’ she said.
‘I think she’s running around and saying, “Oh it’s fake and it’s not for me.” When the fact of the matter is, I worked with her, she couldn’t keep up.’

While Janet didn’t identify the housewife by name, she did confirm that they have a television background, leading many fans to believe that she was referring to Anjali.
Anjali is best known for working as a television presenter on CNN, Sky News, Studio 10, and Dateline.
