Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Heather Gay gets grilled about Jen Shah after fraud guilty plea

Heather Gay was grilled about her friend Jen Shah after she pleaded guilty to wire fraud on Thursday’s season premiere of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.

The 48-year-old reality star was immediately questioned by Gizelle Bryant, 52, upon arrival in Thailand as her cousin and fellow The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City co-star Whitney Rose, 34, sat next to her.

‘I have a million questions to answer the Jen Shah of it all,’ said Gizelle as she cut to the chase.

Whitney quipped that Heather was in the ‘hot seat’ and Heather remarked that Whitney was getting a ‘pure pass on this one.’

‘Well, she said you were with her,’ Gizelle said, referencing Whitney telling them that Heather was in New York City with Jen when she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud during a hearing last July in federal court.

‘I ride for Jen, for sure. I am processing it, like, right now, live,’ Heather said.

‘That’s what we wanna know. What happened?,’ Whitney said.

‘She told you that she was innocent?,’ asked Candiace Dillard Bassett, 36, of The Real Housewives Of Potomac.

‘Well, she told me she was innocent for a year and she swore on her family’s lives. She swore on their lives that she was innocent that these were bulls*** charges,’ Heather said as Candiace reacted in disbelief.

A flashback showed Jen six months earlier crying as she declared her innocence to Heather.

‘But you knew she was lying,’ Gizelle chimed in.

‘Listen, uh, I don’t know. The truth is, we are texting but we have not had a real conversation yet. And I don’t know what changed,’ Heather said.

‘You know what it is? Thirty years. When you’re facing 30 years, in a second, you’re like I’m pleading to 14,’ said Alexia Nepola, 55, of The Real Housewives Of Miami.

‘I mean, I don’t know. She called me five minutes before she walked into the courtroom and said, ”I don’t want you to be blindsided”,’ Heather said with a chuckle.

‘Jen’s a master manipulator,’ Whitney said in a confessional. ‘It’s very easy for her to lie and to put on this, like, facade that you get so confused because you don’t know who the real Jen is.’

‘I just cried with her. I just cried with her on the phone,’ Heather told her fellow reality stars.

‘She believe she was innocent,’ Candiace said.

‘I don’t know. I don’t know,’ Heather said. ‘She either lied to me five minutes before she went into the courtroom or she lied to the judge.’

Alexia asked Heather if she was friends with Jen before the show.

‘Yes. And I ride for her hard. I still do,’ Heather said as Gizelle looked on with a sour expression.

‘You’re still riding for her? She lied to you for a year and a half,’ Gizelle said.

‘I mean, yeah, she did,’ Heather admitted.

‘Loyalty is great, but when you realize that you’re loyal to the wrong person, you gotta know when to retreat,’ Gizelle said in a confessional. ‘Back it up. Abort.’

A producer asked Heather how it felt to be grilled about Jen before she could even put her bags down.

‘I expected it, and I’m glad that somebody thinks I have something to say. Just don’t ignore me,’ Heather told the camera laughing.

Heather told Leah McSweeney, 40, when she arrived about being questioned already about Jen.

‘You’re someone, I feel like has probably been manipulated by a narcissist,’ Leah bluntly told her.

‘Ok,’ Heather responded.

Jen after pleading guilty last July was sentenced in January to six-and-a-half years in prison and started serving her sentence in February.

The first three episodes of season three of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip were released on  Thursday on the Peacock streaming service and new episodes will be made available weekly.
