‘I can relate’: Rebecca Judd compares herself to Meghan Markle and says she ‘really feels for’ the Duchess of Sussex and her struggle in the spotlight

Rebecca Judd has compared herself to Meghan Markle, saying she can relate to the Duchess of Sussex’s struggle with the spotlight.

The wife of retired AFL star Chris Judd said she ‘really feels’ for Prince Harry’s wife after she spoke about the intense media scrutiny surrounding the Royal couple in a recent ITV documentary.

Speaking on KIIS 101.1’s 3pm Pick-Up on Monday, Rebecca said that the former Suits actress was being unfairly criticised by the British press.

Rebecca said: ‘It annoys me that people are so mean to her… what has she ever done that hasn’t been positive?

‘There’s so much hate being thrown her way. It’s so hard being a first-time mum, let alone being criticised for every single thing you do.’

Meghan recently revealed how she and Prince Harry are just ‘surviving’ rather than living as a result of the media attention they face on a daily basis.

She made the comments during an explosive documentary about Harry and Meghan’s African tour, which airs in Australia on Tuesday night.

The interview has sparked a discussion around the world about privacy and the Royal family, with the 3pm Pick-Up hosts sharing their own views on the matter.

When asked if she understands what Meghan is going through, Rebecca replied: ‘I do relate because I get a lot of hate [online].

‘I get a lot of people coming up to me and going, “You’re actually really nice”. Well, what did you expect? I’m just a normal mum doing her thing.’

However, Rebecca did acknowledge that she doesn’t face anywhere near as much scrutiny as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

‘My little patch down here is nothing compared to what [Meghan] is going through on a daily basis,’ she said. ‘I really feel for her.’

Rebecca, 36, married AFL player Chris Judd in 2010. The couple share four children: son Oscar, eight, daughter Billie, five, and three-year-old twins Tom and Darcy.
