Rebecca Maddern sensationally QUITS Channel Nine

Australian Ninja Warrior host Rebecca Maddern QUITS Channel Nine after failing to come to an agreement on a new contract with the network

Rebecca Maddern has walked away from Channel Nine after almost six years at the network.

The 44-year-old, who hosts Australian Ninja Warrior and Weekend Today, exited following a lengthy contract negotiation.

According to the Herald Sun, Maddern and Nine ‘were unable to agree to terms on a new deal’.

‘Bec has been a great contributor to Nine since she joined us and we wish her well for the future,’ Nine said in a statement.

With Maddern out at Nine and Ben Fordham exiting his role as co-host of Ninja Warrior earlier this year, the show will be looking for two brand new hosts.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Maddern for comment.

The mum-of-one joined Nine in 2016 after almost 15 years at rival Channel Seven.

Her first major role was as the co-host of the AFL Footy Show, before joining Australian Ninja Warrior in 2017.

The Melbourne-born beauty’s career continued to go from strength to strength in the following years, as she was chosen to host Nine’s tennis coverage in 2018 before becoming the Weekend Today co-host in 2019.

She welcomed her first child, a daughter named Ruby in 2018, and has been open about her joy of setting a good example for the youngster as a working mum.

‘What’s nice about her being three now though is that she might just be old enough to watch a little bit of Australian Ninja Warrior,’ she told Who magazine in June.

‘This will be the first year I can show her the series, so I’m really excited,’ she added.

She also previously discussed working with co-host Ben Fordham, who stepped away from Ninja Warrior in October.

‘He’s one of my TV husbands, alongside Richard Wilkins!’ Maddern gushed.

‘I didn’t know Ben when we started on the show together in 2017,’ she said, adding that hosting Ninja Warrior pushed them both out of their comfort zones.
