Rebekah Vardy’s ‘role as a patron of charity Barnardo’s under review’

Rebekah Vardy’s role as a patron of children’s charity Barnardo’s is reportedly under review.

The media personality, 41, and her footballer husband Jamie, 36, became the organisations first family ambassadors in 2018.

They share Taylor, 11, Sofia, seven, Finley, four, and Olivia, three. Rebekah is also mother to daughter Megan, 17, from a previous relationship.

While other high profile ambassadors include the Queen Consort Camilla and its president, newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, Rebekah has been told her role could be scrapped as charity bosses review their celebrity ambassadors programme, it is claimed.

A source told the Mirror: ‘Becky is very passionate about her role as a Barnardo’s ambassador, and so it is very upsetting that she may not be able to continue once the review of the programme is complete.

‘The charity informed her recently that it is reviewing its relationship with her, as well as other patrons.

‘This was a real blow for her, as she loves her work with them and wants to continue. She is hoping she will still have a part to play.’

A spokesperson for Barnardo’s told MailOnline: ‘At present we are currently in the process of reviewing our ambassador programme.

‘Rebekah Vardy, alongside her husband Jamie, has been an ambassador for Barnardo’s since 2018. We’re incredibly grateful for the support that Rebekah has given us during that time.’

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Rebekah for comment.

It comes after Rebekah became embroiled with another WAG in a social media spat last month.

Rebekah reportedly branded Annie Kilner, who is married to footballer Kyle Walker, ‘weak and miserable’ in a furious text message this week.

The WAG, 41, appears not to be backing down with the war of words as she continues their ongoing feud – following a slew of targeted social media posts.

The drama comes after Becky branded Annie, 30, a ‘doormat’ and accused her of deflecting attention while her husband Kyle, 32, is facing a police probe after allegedly flashing and kissing another woman in Vodka Revolution.

And it doesn’t appear to be dying down anytime soon as the text was reportedly sent, after a very public display of distaste on Becky’s social media.

A source told The Sun: ‘Becky sent Annie an angry message on Thursday night and told her she had “a sad and miserable life”. She was clearly incredibly angry and told Annie she thought she was weak.

They continued: ‘Becky thinks Annie is putting her anger and humiliation about Kyle on to her and she isn’t having it. She’s sick of being dragged into Annie’s drama and wants no part in it.

‘Annie is livid Becky would have the audacity to do this. In her eyes Becky started it all by dragging her name through the dirt on Instagram.’

MailOnline contacted Becky’s representative for comment.

It came after Annie was reportedly annoyed at Becky, thinking she made a pointed barb in relation to her post breaking her silence on her marriage drama.

But defending herself, Becky said the post was nothing to do with Annie, who is ‘obsessed’ with her.

Uploading a response, a furious Becky wrote: ‘Waking up this morning to my name being associated with this delightful story in yet another opportunity to attack me!

‘Funny though isn’t it that it’s my name she wants to use rather than the people actually laughing at her for being a doormat.

‘Art of deflection to a T… great at playing the victim is our Annie.

‘I think she needs to focus with what’s going on in her own life instead of trying to attack me by bringing me into her drama (laughing emoji).

‘Believe me had it been about her I would have tagged her! She’s obsessed… I’m literally tired of being nice to people with short memories.

‘I’ve stayed silent while she’s bashed me in the media made lies up about me in her little community like a group of playground bullies! Just leave me alone.’

Becky accompanied the post by Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal, with the lyrics: ‘Annie, are you okay? So, Annie, are you okay? Are you okay, Annie?’.
