Rebel Wilson finds herself having to be rescued from a hill in Aspen during her second day of skiing

Things took a somewhat disastrous turn for Rebel Wilson during her ski trip in Aspen on Sunday.

The 38-year-old actress – who is new to the sport – ended up having to be rescued off the top of a mountain after discovering she’d gone up too high and couldn’t get herself back down.

‘Alright, guys. I’m lost on the mountain, but I’m going to make it… This is a bit too experienced for me, so I’m just gonna slide down,’ she said in video posted to Instagram Stories.

In need of help: Things took a somewhat disastrous turn for Rebel Wilson during her ski trip in Aspen on Sunday

Rebel, who was only on her second day of skiing, initially tried to dismount with the help of her ex-boyfriend, actor Mickey Gooch Jr.

‘This is Mickey Gooch. You may have heard of him in Aspen and around the world,’ she introduced him.

‘Micks is going to get me down this hill. It’s a very big hill today, but we’re going to attempt it.’

Offering up a few words of encouragement, the How to Be Single actor told Rebel she was ‘going to crush it’.

Things didn’t appear to go quite to plan though, with the next video showing Rebel strapped to what appeared to have been a yellow stretcher with a rescuer named Scott preparing to take her down the hill.

Clearly seeing the funny side to the whole situation, Rebel could be heard giggling as she got settled on the stretcher.

The following video showed the funnywoman lying flat on her back as Scott towed her back down the mountain.

‘#HorizontalSkiing,’ Rebel captioned a video of the incident, a clear reference to her character Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect, who enjoyed ‘horizontal running’.

A slow motion video showed Rebel giving the air a triumphant fist pump as she made her way back down to the safety of flat land.

In a follow-up video, Rebel reassured her fans she was okay after the ordeal.

‘Just wanted to let you know, I did get back to the hotel safely and I wanted to thank everybody in Aspen for their help on the slopes, because you guys are amazing, you do this all day, every day, whereas me, it was only my second day of skiing,’ she explained.

She also chalked up the mishap to her ill-fitting ski boots.

‘I’d lost feeling in my left foot. I think it was the ski boot. I think it was too tight. I think maybe I need to buy professional ski boots or something,’ she added.
