Urgent nation-wide recall of ‘trikes’ sold at Big W over fears they could seriously injure kids when used as a stroller

- Customers urged not to use models bought in store or online from 2016 – 2019
A nation-wide recall on a popular child’s trike sold at Big W has been issued for stores all around the country.
The ‘trike’, which includes some features of a stroller and some of a tricycle, has been deemed potentially hazardous if used as a stroller as it does not have the sufficient safety features.
When customers use the ‘Little Tikes’ as intended, it could roll ‘in an uncontrolled manner’, which could injure a child sitting inside.

The discount department store has recalled all models of the Little Tikes 4-in-1 purchased in store or online between November 5, 2016 and March 14, 2019.
The trike, which is supplied to Big W and is not an own brand product, breaches the standards outlined in the Consumer Product Safety Standard for Prams and Strollers.
‘BIG W takes the safety of our customers and their families seriously and wishes to advise customers of a product recall,’ a statement from the company read.
‘Consumers are urged to refrain from using the product as a stroller and can return the product to any BIG W store for a full refund without receipt.
‘BIG W apologies to its customers for any inconvenience caused by this recall.’
