Forty years of records from a school where suspected wife-killer and teacher Chris Dawson had an affair with a student have been handed over to police.
Cromer High School, on Sydney’s northern beaches, is one of three schools in the area which have been swept up in an investigation into claims staff groomed students for sex.
Historical teacher records from the schools have now been handed to Strike Force Southwood officers following an order from the NSW education minister, The Daily Telegraph reported.
The news comes as the current principal of the Cromer school breaks his silence about the school’s past which has been thrust into the international spotlight.

In 1982, an affair between Mr Dawson and 16-year-old student Joanne Curtis was exposed.
The strike force was established after Cromer students recently came forward to claim in The Teacher’s Pet podcast teachers were having sex with students during the 1980s.
The investigation has since widened to include nearby Beacon Hill High and Forest High.
Education Minister Rob Stokes reportedly handed down an internal order for staff to track down the historical personnel records so they could be handed over to police.
‘As a result, the department has been providing on request to NSW Police school records, personnel information and other relevant materials to assist with their continuing investigation,’ a department spokesman told The Daily Telegraph.
It is understood the files handed over to police include details about performance records and disciplinary action.

The Daily Telegraph also revealed that Police Commissioner Mick Fuller said officers now had information that both male and female students may have been targeted.
Justin Hong, the principal of the now named Northern Beaches Secondary College Cromer Campus, said of the past transgressions that many of the school’s current teachers ‘weren’t even born at that time’.
‘People understand those things were 40 years ago. It’s not relevant to the school in 2018,’ Mr Hong said.
Shortly after Mr Dawson and Ms Curtis’ affair was exposed, his wife, Lynette Dawson, disappeared and she has not been seen since.
Mr Dawson is suspected of murdering his wife but he has always maintained his innocence.
