A male prostitute has been arrested for the alleged murder of an architect and university professor at his apartment in Brazil on Monday.
José Aguiar, 22, confessed to police to covering up the crime scene by making it seem the 64-year-old man, who has not been named, had committed suicide.
He spent about eight hours on a date at the victim’s home in the central city of Goiania and took multiple selfies in front of the bathroom mirror, including one which he posted to social media after the victim was dead.
At one point, Aguiar snapped a picture of the man’s face to access his online mobile bank application via the facial recognition log in option to make several wire transfers, it is claimed.

However, he made the mistake of leaving his arm exposed to the cellphone camera, which caught the attention of the bank’s security team, who alerted police.
Security cameras spotted Aguiar was spotted leaving the elderly man’s home Monday at 5am with a luggage bag and backpack.
He later used the victim’s cards to shop at several different stores and dropped off the items at his home before returning in the afternoon cover up the crime.
Cops arrived at the man’s building around 1:45 pm and spotted Aguiar, who gave police a fake name.

Police became suspicious of Aguiar and searched their database system, which revealed the he was linked to a string of thefts and embezzlements.
Law enforcement agents went to the victim’s apartment, where they broke the locked entrance door and found him with a crucifix in his hand and hanging from rope in the bathroom.
Aguiar told cops he had faked the suicide scene and called police to report that he had found the man dead.
He also confessed to transferring around $11,800 to his own bank account and spending $790 with a stolen debit/credit card.
