The apartment on Belmore Street in Rozelle has become a laughing stock after the Domain listing was posted to Facebook page Humans of Eastwood Daily
The house is described as ‘brand new’ with ‘carpet throughout’ with a ‘separate lounge’ as well as neat kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom and landscaped courtyard.

But the photos tell a different story – with the snaps showing fake computer generated furniture all over the home.
In the living room there is a bright red couch, with a cartoon fireplace, and TV.
Throughout the house, the dining table, garden and bedroom furniture are all computer generated too.
The now viral listing saw hundreds of people comment joking it was like a computer game.

‘Wanna play sims?’ one person commented.
‘The metaverse is now,’ said another.
‘He had a mate who knew someone who could do it cheaper…’ joked one.
‘Reminds me of that nightmare I have where I’m stuck in a pool or a burning house with no way to escape. Karma for how I treated my Sims 20 years ago,’ wrote another.
‘Comes with NFT furniture,’ said one.

Real estate agency LJ Hooker, who listed the property, admitted it was a ‘inside job. Realtor Mary Aidonas told Yahoo News Australia it was her ‘little fake furniture’ and said she was ‘no expert’ at graphic design but ‘gave it a shot’.

People joked the home looked like a ‘early noughties video game’ with people comparing it to Sims and Minecraft

‘I stretched it out and I thought, “oh it looks alright” at the time, and I thought we might get some exposure for it because it [the property] has been dormant for so long.’
She seems to have taken the reaction in good faith, however, saying there’s no such thing as ‘bad press’.
‘I didn’t know that it was going to get such a response.
‘Someone has already emailed, she goes, “why does the furniture look like it’s taken from a video game released in early 2000s.”
‘Well maybe that is where the application got it from.’

‘That’s the new strain of grass called ‘Chernobyl’, you should see it at night time,’ one house-hunter quipped – referring to the Ukrainian town where a nuclear power station melted down in 1986.
