Republic of Ireland’s Megan Connolly films slingshot ride in Florida

The adrenaline rush of a roller coaster may be some people’s idea of heaven but for this footballer it looked like a living hell.

Megan Connolly decided to try the slingshot ride, which shoots you 300ft into the air, with her friend Dallas Dorosy.

Megan, who plays for the Republic of Ireland, sat down on the slingshot ride next to Dallas and seemed to instantly regret her decision.

The footage Megan posted on Twitter, which has already been viewed 817,000 times, was captioned ‘The moment my soul left my body’.

This isn’t too far off the mark as the video shows Megan shout ‘oh my god… no, no, no’ as her seat tilts back and the ride begins.

She then says: ‘Oh my god, I’m f*****g freaking out. Do we know when we’re going to go?’

Megan Connolly was filmed screaming the entire time she was on the slingshot ride while her friend laughed at her reaction

The slingshot then flung the two friends into the air who have very different reactions to the ride.

As they are left swinging at the summit of the ride Megan can be heard saying ‘get me down, get me down.’

While Megan screams the entire way up – and down – Dallas can’t stop laughing at the way her friend is handling the sensation of being flung into the air.

Megan, who currently plays for the Florida State Seminoles, is studying at a university in the United States and was enjoying an evening off with her teammates.

Speaking to Independent.ie, she said: ‘The moment I sat in the chair and got strapped in I freaked out.

‘So many thoughts were going through my head, like ‘your seat is going to open when you’re 300 feet in the air and well it’s not going to end well’.

‘If I was on the ride for any longer I think I would have went into cardiac arrest. I was absolutely terrified.’
