Two congressional hopefuls are in a bizarre Twitter spat over whether one of them is secretly a ‘Bigfoot erotica’ connoisseur.
Democratic nominee for Virginia’s 5th district Leslie Cockburn suggested the odd fetish made her opponent Denver Riggleman unfit to govern.
She posted a screenshot of a sketch of a naked Bigfoot with its penis blacked out that was posted to the Republican candidate’s Instagram.

His opponent Leslie Cockburn posted a screenshot of a sketch of a naked Bigfoot with its penis blacked out that was posted to the Republican candidate’s Instagram .
‘Cover art for #matinghabitsofbigfoot almost complete. I hide nothing in this magnificent tome. Don’t erase the censor box,’ the post read.
Ms Cockburn then posted a followup shot of Mr Riggleman’s face superimposed on to a different naked and censored Bigfoot drawing.
‘My ‘buddies’ thought this pic was fitting for my birthday next week and to celebrate my new book release in a month or 2,’ he wrote under it.
The images were to promote Mr Riggleman’s upcoming book Mating Habits of Bigfoot and Why Women Want Him.
Mr Riggleman, a former air force officer, said the posts were a joke by his military friends and he posted them as a bit of fun

‘My opponent Denver Riggleman, running mate of Corey Stewart, was caught on camera campaigning with a white supremacist,’ Ms Cockburn wrote.
‘Now he has been exposed as a devotee of Bigfoot erotica. This is not what we need on Capitol Hill.’
Ms Cockburn was calling Senate candidate Corey Stewart a white supremacist, who has come under fire from many Democrats for his far-right views.
However, Mr Riggleman, a former air force officer, said the posts were a joke by his military friends and he posted them as a bit of fun.
He said the book, which he never expected to be used against him, was not ‘erotica’ and called his opponent’s tweets ‘absurd’.
Mr earlier co-authored Bigfoot Exterminators Inc. The Partially Cautionary, Mostly True Tale of Monster Hunt 2006, with Don Barone.

A source close to him told Daily Progress the book, about people who travel around looking for the mythical beast, was ‘assuredly not’ Bigfoot erotica.
Ms Cockburn was criticised on social media for not sticking to the issues but her campaign manager Louise Bruce said voters deserved to know Mr Riggleman’s ‘character’.
‘Leslie has been traveling throughout the district meeting with real people about real issues that matter to them,’ she said.
‘Meanwhile, Mr Riggleman is home scrubbing his social media of ‘Bigfoot erotica’ and who knows what else.’
There are no polls for the district yet but Republican Tom Garrett, who retired to seek treatment for alcoholism, won it comfortably in 2016.
