Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen will be available to sign for just £50million this summer due to a release clause in his contract, according to a report.

The 19-year-old is attracting interest from a number of top European clubs, including Manchester United and Real Madrid amid his stellar campaign with the Cherries.

The Spanish centre back joined Andoni Iraola’s side for £12.6m from Juventus last summer and has impressed in his first season in England.

Reports last week claimed that a £55m release clause was included in Huijsen’s contract, however, according to Fabrizio Romano, the figure is an even more appealing £50m fee.

United are believed to be considering making a move for the teenager however, getting a deal over the line is unlikely to be straightforward as it is understood that they face competition for his signature from Real Madrid and a number of top German clubs.

Huijsen has made 19 Premier League appearances this term and has been part of a defence that has conceded just 29 goals. Only the current top two – Liverpool and Arsenal – have conceded fewer.

His performances have caught the eye, with Bournemouth 14 points ahead of United and pushing for a European spot.

United are now showing significant interest in Huijsen as they look to bolster their backline ahead of multiple expected departures this summer.

Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans are both out of contract at the end of the season and look set to be moved on, while Lisandro Martinez suffered a serious knee injury earlier this month and appears unlikely to return until the latter stages of 2025.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth face a mammoth task to keep hold of a number of their star players as they make a push for Champions League football. Liverpool are fond of Milos Kerkez, while Paris Saint-Germain fancy Illia Zabarnyi.

That’s before even getting to the boss Andoni Iraola, whose stock is spiking, already making shortlists at other clubs for his high-risk, high-reward style of play.

As revealed in Sami Mokbel’s column this week, Iraola prefers to work on short-term deals, and his current contract at the Vitality runs until 2026.

Mail Sport asked him after this victory over Southampton about Bournemouth’s fans singing that they want him to sign up for the next 10 years.

The 42-year-old Spaniard laughed and said: ‘I’m very thankful for them. Not just this season. Even from the beginning when we were not winning a game, I felt the support of the club, players and supporters.’
