Taylor Swift’s record label and publishing company blocked Fox from using her music during last weekend’s Chiefs-Bears game, the network’s lead NFL producer has said.
Swift unsurprisingly set the internet ablaze when she popped up at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on new beau Travis Kelce, sitting next to his mother Donna in box seats.
And while Fox focused plenty on the pop star during the Chiefs’ blowout win, they were apparently denied a request seeking permission to use some of Swift’s hits.
‘Earlier in the week, amid the avalanche of rumors, our bulldog associate producer Rich Gross had sought permission to use some of Swift’s music,’ NFL on Fox lead producer Richie Zyons wrote on FoxSports.com.
‘Per the FOX music department, Swift’s record label and publishing company denied our request ‘in conjunction with speculations on or about her private/personal/dating life.”

Zyons said that they got confirmation on Sunday morning that Swift would be in attendance.
As Kelce was warming up, Zyons wrote, he even told Greg Olsen and Erin Andrews that the rumors were true.
‘But you didn’t hear it from me,’ the tight end said.
Kelce registered 69 yards and a touchdown with Swift in attendance, and he’ll reportedly have the pop star in his corner again this weekend.
According to Front Office Sports, Swift will watch Kelce again in East Rutherford as the Chiefs visit the Jets on Sunday night.
Kelce spoke on his ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother Jason about his whirlwind weekend afterwards – heaping praise onto his new love interest.
‘Shout out to Taylor for pulling up . That was pretty ballsy,’ he said.
‘I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her. The friends and family. She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in a great light.
‘On top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans of course. We script it all ladies and gentlemen. It was just impressive.’
