A game-changing app that tells you if a McDonald’s soft serve ice cream machine is broken is set to launch in Australia.

The ‘McBroken’ app and website has been designed to tell you in real time if the soft serve machine at your local McDonald’s is working or not.

Customers can use the app to locate the closest McDonald’s store represented by either a red or green pin drop.

The innovative app will ensure customers aren’t disappointed when driving to McDonald’s for a soft serve – a frustrating problem nationwide with the machines prone to problems.

If the pin is green, this signifies the machine is working but if it’s red this signifies the machine is currently out of order.

Customers can also use the app to determine if the Frozen Coke machine is working through the same format.

To do so, simply click on the pin to reveal the up-to-date information.

The concept for the new app was created by 24-year-old software engineer Rashiq Zahid, from the US, earlier this year.

‘I was like, there must be something that can be done about this,’ Zahid told The Verge.

So he created a bot that attempts to order a McDonald’s sundae every 30 minutes, and if successful the machine will be marked as ‘available’.

While the US version of McBroken is currently up and running, the Australian version of the website is still under development but can be accessed.
