The Melbourne mum who posts online as Mama Mila, shared that her handy trick can also be used in, ‘drawers, wardrobes and linen closets’.

She begins her hack by placing five drops of peppermint oil and lavender oil onto cotton balls.

Together this blend deodorises clothing and helps repel against bugs and moths.

Then she puts the scented cotton balls into a small muslin drawstring bag and hangs it on a coat hanger hook.

‘The scent lasts up to three weeks and when it fades just top up with oils, no needs to change the cotton frequently,’ says Chantel.

Many have left comments praising Chantel’s simple trick, saying they’ll definitely try it out.

Last month the Melbourne mum went viral for more clothing hacks when she revealed her three-step secret for sparkling white laundry.

In a TikTok video Chantel revealed that she soaks clothes in dissolvable denture tablets to eliminate all traces of sweat and grubby stains.

She also adds half a cup of baking powder to her washing to naturally brighten clothes and mixes two drops of eucalyptus oil with laundry detergent for ‘extra stain removal power’.

The tips, which have been viewed 109,000 time since they were uploaded online, have sparked dozens of responses from viewers suggesting their own.

One woman said she washes whites with ice cold water on a one-hour cycle, then adds a drop of softener towards the end.

‘Super clean and fresh,’ she added.

Others thanked Chantel for her sharing her tricks and said they couldn’t wait to try the denture tablets for themselves.
