Reveller is refused a drink at a beer festival after using fake ID with Little Britain’s Andy on

A festival-goer presented a fake driving licence with the Little Britain character’s face on it bearing the name Andy Scouser.

Police caught him out when they heard him saying ‘I want that one’ while talking to bar staff at Three Valleys Beer Festival as he mimicked the catchphrase Matt Lucas made famous in the sketch show.

The card’s address was ‘Yeah I know I live in a house’, in another nod to the programme’s character Andy Pipkins.

The fake ID featured not just a picture of the comedy character, but his catch phrases too and listed ‘wheelchairs’ at the end of the category of vehicles he is permitted to drive

A Derbyshire officer posted a pictured of the fake identification on social media after police attended the event in Dronfield. They joked that Pipkins had aged well since the show’s final season in 2007.

‘Identification provided when asked by door staff and seen by one of our colleagues assisting the Three Valleys yesterday,’ the officer wrote.

‘It appears Andy has changed a lot in appearance since his Little Britain days and aged very well.

‘Door staff recognise every trick in the book! No beer for Andy last night.’

The Campaign for Real Ale’s website says the event was part of ‘a whole raft of pubs, clubs and breweries putting on small beer festivals’ in the east Midlands town.

Little Britain first aired in 2003 and was co-written and performed by Lucas and David Walliams.

In the show, Walliams plays Andy’s carer Lou, who appears to be restricted to a wheelchair.

Apart from his catchphrase, Liverpudlian Andy would create humour by running out of his wheelchair while Lou’s back was turned.

An early version of the fictional duo first appeared in Rock Profiles, which mocked music icons.

In the earlier comedy sketch show, Lou was a nod to Lou Reed and Andy was a reference to artist Andy Warhol, both of whom where part of proto-punk band The Velvet Underground.
