Romantic revellers celebrated Valentine’s Day last night in a less than elegant fashion as they staggered through city centre streets across the UK.
Couples in Birmingham, Newcastle and Leeds were seen downing drinks from bottles, enjoying takeaways and gripping onto balloons.
Some couples took the chance for a Valentine’s night out together and shared kisses and hugs on the street, while other revellers headed out as a larger group of friends.
As some young men carried roses for their girlfriends, others were spotted sprawled across the floor as they appeared to have slipped on the cobbles.
Despite the frosty conditions, women persisted with less than fully covered outfits as they battled through the cold to the warmth of a nightclub.
Other revellers’ nights ended in misery as they came to blows with other partygoers and had to be escorted away by police.
