Revitalize Learning and Engagement with Teach to One

The usual classroom model is not meeting the needs of either students or educators in the most productive way. However, with Teach to One, teachers are empowered to use their skills and experiences to teach students with methods that meet their individual needs and that support them in reaching their highest potential. Additionally, it makes the teaching experience more enjoyable and fruitful for teachers because it is collaborative and sustainable.

When teachers work together with this program, they are able to instruct more students than in a regular classroom. Teachers work together and share accountability for student learning and center their teaching on specific ways of teaching and expectations.

No one teacher uses just one learning modality with this teaching program. They are able to employ a wide variety to help students learn according to what works best for them. Some of the modalities that Teach to One utilizes include Small Group Collaboration, Independent Learning, and Live Investigation. Changing up how students learn and engaging them with these empowering modalities keep instruction fun and productive for both teachers and students.

Individualized student learning is one of the main goals of teacher collaboration models. Teachers are able to learn about their students every day and to understand new information about them on an ongoing basis. This helps them all scaffold support for students in similar ways to help the student master learning objectives. For example, a child may already know a specific set of skills, and, when they work with a different teacher, they won’t need to repeat instruction of those skills. Likewise, a particular intervention strategy may work well with a particular student, and, when teachers work together, they are better able to use that strategy effectively to help the student learn effectively.

An added bonus of is that teachers get schedules created just for them to instruct groups of students that have the same types of needs. Educators can look at the schedule quickly to find out what type of learning method they will use and the skills that the students will master. The schedule also makes it clear which area of the Math Center they will work in with their students.

When teachers use this framework, they have access to about 9,000 lessons that are vetted from a selection of approximately 80,000. They can choose lessons that incorporate nine learning modalities so that they can find what works best for their particular group of students, further improving student learning in small groups.

In schools that use this approach to learning, there is a support team of individuals available to support educators. They specialize in technical, operational, and instructional support, and they give support at the school throughout the year. As teachers and administrators become more comfortable with the system, they can reduce the on-site support, but it is always available.

To keep track of student progress, teachers can log in to their secure portal. There, they can see how students are doing on specific skills, and make plans for which skills need more reinforcement. They can also set goals for their students to help them reach even higher levels of success.

Teach to One is an innovative program and way of teaching that provides the tools and structure teachers need to help students attain their academic potential in a small-group setting that speaks specifically to their individual learning needs and preferences.
