Hundreds of makeup fans queued for hours in the cold to be the first to get their hands on a new must-have $8 beauty product by a cult British cosmetics band after it launched in Australia.

Revolution, known and loved in the UK and US for its affordable range of cosmetics, hit the shelves at Priceline on Thursday. 

The beauty brand is most popular for its $8 ‘Conceal and Define’ concealer which sells every five seconds.

The cult makeup also has a reputation for creating some of the best eyeshadow sets on the market, with its Reloaded palettes also priced at a mere $8. 

Priceline in Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall was stormed by hundreds of eager women who lined up in the cold to purchase the new must-have items.

The Reloaded palettes is comprised of six different colour palettes, all themed according to name.

The eyeshadow range includes sets featuring the softest neutrals in delicate hues of cream, gold and rose through those in striking shades of yellow, purple, green and blue.

Priceline shoppers were rewarded with not only free reign in-store to try on the new brand but also the opportunity to chat with makeup star Shannon Harris. 

Shannon, who is better known to her three million YouTube fans as Shaaanxo, was recently ranked by Elle as one of the top-earning beauty stars in the world.

There was plenty of buzz in store as keen fans were given free reign to try on Revolution's range of products

Australian Chloe Morello, Jeffree Star and Huda Kattan, whose estimated fortune sits at $761million (USD$550million) also feature on the top-13 list.

Shannon recently reviewed a selection of Revolution makeup products on her YouTube channel and told fans while some products performed well, others needed a ‘little extra work’ to create the effect she wanted.

‘I feel like a lot of the products are good, you just have to work a bit harder with them to get them to look perfect,’ she said.

As well as offering eyeshadow palettes and concealers, Revolution’s range also includes lipsticks, priced from $7.50, primers, $15 and contouring kits, $20.

A brow pomade, which Shannon said had the potential to be a ‘game changer’, is priced at $20.

Other items set to be a makeup bag staple include a mascara with a specially formulated ‘hourglass brush’, priced at $20.
