RICHARD EDEN: Billionaire heir David Reuben Jr marries Carolina Guerra in Burning Man wedding

As an heir to a fortune of almost £19 billion, David Reuben Jr could have the pick of palaces for his wedding venue. But instead the son of property tycoon David Reuben chose to marry Colombian actress Carolina Guerra in the middle of the desert.

I can reveal that the couple tied the knot at the Burning Man Festival, a hippyish art jamboree in Nevada, where the bride wore a barely-there, metallic dress and the groom looked like the Tin Man in a silver suit.

‘Married this babe on the playa surrounded by so much love and support from our Burning Man family,’ gushes Reuben.

‘Incredibly fortunate for the love of an amazing woman.’

The groom’s father, David, and uncle, Simon, make up the Reuben brothers who own properties around the world including Mayfair’s Burlington Arcade and Westminster’s Millbank Tower.

Reuben Jr’s friends range from financier Nat Rothschild to Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

The couple live in Los Angeles, where David, 39, is an executive at a music company and Carolina, 33, stars in the crime drama Animal Kingdom.

He is convinced she’s married him for all the right reasons.

When they got engaged, he shared a picture with pals of Carolina wearing a huge diamond ring and commented: ‘When material possessions are of zero importance, who is still around?’

Poppy’s latest look? Utterly quackers!

Who says Poppy Delevingne is a bird-brained socialite?

The aspiring actress, 33, and sister of top model Cara was spotted strutting through the streets of Soho wearing a bright yellow faux fur coat that made her look like Big Bird from the children’s television programme Sesame Street.

But don’t think the outlandish creation comes cheap — or should that be cheep?

It is made by Italian designer Sara Battaglia and costs £2,000.

Spare a thought for Auto Trader tycoon Sir John Madejski, a close friend of the Duchess of Cambridge’s family.

He has a hotel in Berkshire and Reading FC’s stadium named after him, but both are expected to be stripped of their titles by new Chinese owners.

‘I live at the Millennium Madejski Hotel,’ he tells me at a launch party for Jacob’s Ladder, Michael Ashcroft’s biography of Rees-Mogg.

‘But it’s got new owners and they are going to change the name. To be successful in football these days, it’s no good being a millionaire — you need to be a billionaire.’

New Duke parts from child’s mum

There was one notable absentee at the Duke of Roxburghe’s funeral on Monday: dazzling Iranian fashion designer Morvarid Sahafi.

Until recently, she seemed likely to marry the Duke’s heir, Charlie. Indeed, four years ago, she gave birth to his first child, a girl.

‘Charlie’s besotted by his daughter, who was at her grandfather’s funeral,’ I’m told. ‘But, sadly, he and Morvarid are no longer together.’

Charlie, who has inherited the 200-room Floors Castle in the Scottish borders, seemed impeccably matched with Morvarid, both 38.

She runs her own womenswear company Morv London, while Charlie, a former Army captain, is co-founder of Capstar, a chauffeuring and security company which seeks to recruit men and women wounded in combat.

Charlie married Lord Beaverbrook’s elder daughter, Charlotte Aitken, in 2011, only to separate a few months later. And she works as a wedding planner.
