Richard Wilkins’ son Christian shows off his VERY buff biceps in a yellow corset at fashion launch

He’s known for his bold sense of style and ripped frame.

And Christian Wilkins, 26, drew attention to his buff biceps and lean upper body as he attended the launch of David Jones’ New Zealand Design Edit initiative in Sydney on Wednesday.

The son of veteran entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins donned a quirky yellow and white corset, and mingled with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Christian teamed the fashion-forward top with a pair of faux-leather black pants and black hoof-inspired shoes.

He styled his long blond locks out and oozed confidence as he posed for photos.

Christian, who is forging his own career in the entertainment industry, attended with his father Richard, 68, and engaged in conversation with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, 41.

David Jones’ New Zealand Design Edit launch will see level eight of the Sydney flagship store transformed into a New Zealand designer destination for one month from July 7.

The sighting comes after Richard revealed that he ‘didn’t flinch’ upon seeing his son on the red carpet in a backless dress at the Logie Awards last month.

The Channel Nine star, who defended his son in an emotional Instagram post last month after he was trolled online for his Logie Award outfit, told The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential last Sunday that he admires his son’s ‘bravery and style’.

Richard said that his son is simply having fun with his choice of fashion ensembles.

‘I don’t understand that (parents not being in their son’s corner), but I certainly am. I didn’t flinch when I saw Christian in that dress. I didn’t think much of it,’ he told the publication of Christian’s Logie Award dress.

He admitted that there’s been the ‘odd time over the years’ when Christian has come down the stairs in an outfit that he deemed a bit questionable.

‘It’s not all my cup of tea, I couldn’t pull it off. But he is doing it because he is having fun.’

Richard went on to praise his son for ‘shaking things up’ with his bold sense of style.

‘I admire his bravery. He has great style. He is fashion forward. I am boring in my black suit, black shoes and a bow-tie. I’m not really shaking things up, am I?’ he said.

In an Instagram post last month, Richard fired back at critics after trolls suggested Christian was a ‘disappointment to the family’.

‘So… to anyone who dares to suggest that I am in any way “ashamed” of my son Christian.. for whatever reason… You are wrong!’ he raged.

‘I could not be more proud!! He is an exceptional human being who will leave his stamp on the world long after his detractors have disappeared. I love you unconditionally.’

Christian also hit back at a Twitter troll who criticised his flamboyant wardrobe.

The anonymous user @SaraVic333 tweeted that ‘it’s not normal’ for men to wear women’s clothes, before adding: ‘STOP normalising this bulls**t!!!’

Christian responded to this criticism by mocking the way some people react hysterically to men who like to wear dresses.

‘What is happening to the world!!!! Masculinity is ending!!! Burn everything!!’ he tweeted to rapturous support from his Twitter followers.

Many fans praised the Filthy Rich and Homeless star for embracing a feminine look instead of the traditional tuxedo favoured by men on the red carpet.

‘She’s so mad you’re prettier than her and can pull off a dress which she’d most definitely be unable to… jealously IS a disease,’ one Twitter user wrote.

‘I think you’re a fabulous role model,’ another added.

Christian put his best fashion foot forward last month when he arrived on the Logies red carpet in a sheer backless dress.

He wore his long blond hair loosely, opted for a pair of quirky hoof-style heels, and accessorised with a dramatic necklace that draped down his back.
