A young AFL star had his face smashed open while his teammate suffered a broken wrist after rushing to defend his girlfriend in a nightclub.
The Richmond Tigers confirmed young gun Shai Bolton, 22, and teammate Daniel Rioli, 24, were involved in an altercation on the weekend.
The melee started when Rioli’s DJ girlfriend Paris Lawrence was ‘subjected to inappropriate behaviour’ from a fellow nightclub patron.
It’s understood neither Rioli or Bolton were under the influence of alcohol, and aren’t expected to face disciplinary action from the club.

‘Richmond players Daniel Rioli and Shai Bolton were involved in an incident at a nightclub over the weekend,’ Richmond said in a statement.
‘An altercation took place after Rioli’s girlfriend was subjected to inappropriate behaviour.
‘Rioli was punched after confronting the patron and suffered a cut under his eye that required two stitches.
‘Bolton became involved in the ensuing altercation and sustained a fractured wrist that will require surgery.’
Bolton will be sidelined for the next two to three weeks due to his wrist injury.
Rioli started dating Lawrence, a DJ and TikTok sensation, in February this year following his split from Mia Fevola.
Lawrence has more than 28,000 Instagram followers, and is managed by the same team as DJ Havana Brown.
